MMA’s Directory of Midwives is a list of active, credentialed MMA Members. It is provided as a benefit of membership and as a public service. It does not imply endorsement of member midwives. Some midwives have chosen not to be listed. Their absence should not be construed as a censure of their practice. It is up to the consumer to fully research provider choices. For further information about the credentialing of midwives, see The North American Registry of Midwives at narm.org and The American College of Nurse Midwives at acnm.org.
The regions of the state represent general areas. Midwives in one region may serve families in other regions as well. Please contact the individual midwife to inquire about what area of the state she serves.

Abby seeks to provide evidence based and knowledgeable prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum care. Abby Haguewood is a Certified Professional Midwife. She began her internship and student midwife program in 2015 at a birth center in southwest Missouri. Abby has completed a range of studies that prepared her for various pregnancy and birth scenarios, studying under both Certified Professional Midwives (CPM) and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) who work in home and birth center settings. Abby attended a 2 year natural health educator program before starting her midwifery journey and gained naturopathic education that prepared her for working in the midwifery field. Abby has met the requirements of the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and will continue to advance in her education to meet yearly CEU requirements. As of January 2019, Abby has been a midwife assistant and midwife under supervision of over 250 deliveries and countless prenatal and postpartum appointments. Abby’s desire to become a midwife, simply comes from her deep love for motherhood and families. She loves supporting women as they blossom into motherhood. Abby truly believes that motherhood is one of the greatest blessings. She desires to encourage women in their role of being mothers. Aside from midwifery, Abby enjoys natural health, any outdoor adventure, cooking healthy foods/nutrition, home decorating/hospitality, ministry/mission work, politics, photography, music, farm living, most importantly...time spent with her family!
